The Department of Dentistry is an integral member of the KHMC team, providing comprehensive dental care to four major categories of patients:
- Medically Compromised
- Dental Tertiary Care
- Protocol /VIP’s
- Eligible Hospital employees and their dependents
The Dental department provides state-of-the art preventive and restorative dentistry, as well as, performs dental/oral clearance prior to major procedures (open heart surgery, organ transplant surgery, bone marrow transplantation, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, etc). Although the main workload is on out-patient basis, the Department also performs important inpatient activity and has its own hospital beds, in addition to ‘day surgery’ facility for IV sedation and general anesthesia procedures

- In line with the leading centers for orthognathic and maxillofacial surgery in the Kingdom.
- In line with the leading centers in the Kingdom providing cosmetic and functional maxillofacial rehabilitation for patients disfigured by surgery, trauma, or congenital malformation, including artificial replacement of eyes, nose, ears, and fingers in addition to palatal lifting for speech therapy.
